Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has urged residents of Malava Constituency and leaders to maintain peace and dignity during the burial ceremony of Malava MP, Hon. Malulu Injendi, scheduled for Tuesday next week.

Speaking at the late MP’s home in Malava after donating bulls for the ceremony, Governor Barasa emphasized the importance of unity and a respectful send-off.

“Malulu was a man of the people. During the burial, we urge leaders not to use youths to heckle others. We must uphold peace in Malulu’s home,” Barasa stated.

His call for calm was echoed by Kakamega Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda, who stressed that no one should incite or pay youths to disrupt the event.

“I urge everyone attending our brother’s funeral to maintain peace. To the youths, don’t allow anyone to buy you to disrupt Malulu’s funeral,” she said.

The burial is expected to draw leaders from various sectors, paying their last respects to the late MP, widely remembered as a dedicated servant of the people.

Among those present during the governor’s address were President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, Principal Secretary for Higher Education Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, MPs led by Kakamega Woman Rep Elsie Muhanda, and MCAs.

The funeral is anticipated to be a high-profile event, with the late MP’s colleagues and supporters gathering to honor his legacy.
